This article presents the results of the analysis of the dynamics of the family organization around the care of a group of elderly people in the rural context of the municipality of Sachica Boyacá, in the villages of Espinal, Arrayan alto and Ritoque, focusing on communication, roles, affectivity and well-being of the elderly people and their families. As part of the meth odological strategy, a qualitative research was carried out, based on the narrative research design, with the semi-structured interview technique, four (4) interviews were conducted with the main caregivers of the elderly between 77 and 92 years old, 3 functional dependent women and 2 functional men, these were implemented through a questionnaire or guide of semi-structured questions, where it can be concluded that communication is a crucial role for the care of the elderly, this must be open, respectful within the family to contribute to healthier relationships and greater well-being for both caregivers and the elderly, in addition to emotional support, family unity, celebrations are very significant in these families as a way to express affection and strengthen family ties.
