Abstract

Today the desire for dignified housing for many Colombians has grown into a long waiting line for a form of government subsidy. It has been denatured and dematerialized and it is believed by the State that is not just a problem of money for “poor” citizens to be able to enter to the market to buy their homes, or access a program of free housing, without looking at the social part.

The Archdiocese of Tunja in head of Archbishop Luis Augusto Castro, and some priests of the most disadvantaged and vulnerable areas of the Archdiocese of Tunja, especially in rural and suburban areas, concerned about the quality of life of its inhabitants, referring with the quality of their housing, an unfavorable diagnosis that has to do with the quality of life was found. Therefore, through thisproject it is intended to subsidize the material for the improvement of housing, to provide better living conditions for vulnerable populations and avoid evils worse ranking, with active local participation and professional support of the Universities of the Region (Fundación Universitaria Juan de Castellanos and St. Thomas University Tunja). Those with professional
support aspect of social construction.

Also, not to be a simple improvement in material form, it is encouraged for community and social development , accompanying the process in these communities in poverty to actively contribute in building the common good with social intervention programs . It is a campaign that wants to advance throughout the Archdiocese of Tunja but will be performed as the financial resources are raised. Because there are many families who are in inhuman situations, to start with work will be done with residents of one of the most vulnerable and poorest areas of Tunja, “San Lazaro and patriotas” neighborhood, with potential for expansion of the project.

The purpose is to improve the lives of 50 families, corresponding to the most vulnerable and subhuman areas in the city. Urban and rural sectors influencedby Archdiocese of Tunja (Colombia ) , through communitarian work,strengthening the social fabric.
