EVALUACIÓN DE LOS PARÁMETROS PRODUCTIVOS DE POLLOS DE ENGORDE CON LA INCLUSIÓN DE TOMILLO (Thymus-vulgaris L.) EN LA DIETA

Resumen

El tomillo (Thymus-vulgaris L.) es una planta de la familia de las labiadas que, además de usarse como medio para conservar y mejorar el sabor de los alimentos, su extracto se utiliza como inhibidor de hongos y bacterias patógenas, con el fin de mejorar la eficiencia del tracto digestivo, considerándose esta planta como una buena alternativa en la alimentación animal para mejorar el rendimiento productivo. Es por esto, que se planteó como objetivo del trabajo evaluar la inclusión de Thymusvulgaris L. sobre los parámetros productivos de Broilers. Para tal fin, se realizó un experimento en una granja ubicada en Villa de Leyva (Boyacá), por un periodo de 42 días, se utilizaron 120 pollos machos de la línea Cobb divididos en un diseño completamente al azar, con tres tratamientos, cinco repeticiones y ocho aves por repetición. El Tratamiento 1 (T1), se determinó como control y su alimentación base fue un alimento balanceado comercial; el tratamiento 2 (T2) y tres (T3), al alimento balanceado se le adicionó 3 % y 5 % de tomillo deshidratado y 5 %, respectivamente. Los datos de ganancia diaria de peso, conversión alimenticia y eficiencia alimenticia, fueron evaluados por Anova y las diferencias estadísticas entre tratamientos por la prueba de Tukey con un nivel significancia de 5 %. Como resultado, no se encontró diferencias estadísticas significativas entre los tratamientos (p>0,05) para ganancia de peso y peso final. Sin embargo, el tratamiento T3 con una eficiencia de 0,35 y conversión alimenticia de 2,54, fue el que mostró mejor comportamiento con relación a T1 y T2. Se evidenció que el rendimiento productivo en cuanto a la ganancia de peso de las aves, no se ve afectado al incluir tomillo deshidratado en la dieta de los animales.
