This article presents the progress of a project that implements the philosophy program for children by Matthew Lipman, in the fourth grade students of the Nationalized Educational Institution of Samacá, in "Fray Juan de los Barrios" and "El Quite" buildings. This project seeks to improve the level of reading comprehension so that students acquire a reading with purpose, since, according to the diagnosis, some of the main difficulties they have when they seek the meaning of a text are: interpreting it and making it relevant in learning. At the beginning, philosophy is contextualized in the educational field and some theoretical postulates that support the proposal are exposed; then, a description is made of the methodological process that was carried out during the research; finally, the main findings and achievements resulting from the application of the classroom plan are read, which is based on the analysis of philosophical texts and the population of inquiry, as a didactic integration strategy.
